TIME: 7:30 - 9 p.m.
LOCATION: Drumlin Farm Nature Center, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA, 01773
TITLE OF PROGRAM: "Letters from Eden"
FORMAT OF TALK: "'Letters from Eden' is a naturalist's journal, telling the countless small stories of the woods and meadows in flowing prose and lively watercolors. Copperheads strike; starlings battle and become prey; bullfrogs snap up hummingbirds in these essays. Reading from her work while showing her paintings and photographs, this renowned bird artist and writer will reveal the deep connection with nature that keeps her walking her 80-acre Appalachian sanctuary."
Yeah. All that. And this:
HARVARD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY -- family program
DATE: March 25, 2007
TIME: 2 p.m.
LOCATION: Harvard Museum of Natural History, 26 Oxford St., Cambridge
TITLE OF PROGRAM: "Hummingbird Summer: Living with Birds"
FORMAT OF TALK: "Author and bird artist Julie Zickefoose spent a summer as surrogate mom to four ruby-throated hummingbirds after a storm dismantled their nests. It was a life-changing experience, followed the next summer with a similar experience taking care of seven chimney swifts. She documented the young birds' development with photography, sketches, and life paintings. Join us for an illustrated talk about these mysterious birds, and how feathered creatures weighing less than a penny can turn a person's life upside down."

Come see me!! I'm goin' to Boston! Remember: If you're a blog devotee, be sure to quickly blurt, "BLOG!" as you approach. That way, I'll know you know waaaay too much about me, my kids, my husband, and my little cute doggie, and we'll proceed from there. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to look for my cellphone charger. Did you know that two bottles of Zickefoose wine weigh 14 lb. and take up about 1/3 of your suitcase?

YOU GO, GIRL! I'll miss you when you're gone. Show 'em your stuff!
Love that photo of you. Keep your bottles chilled.
Have fun in Boston! When are you coming to the SF Bay Area??? I promise to blurt "Blog!"
Blurting Blog....I know there is a poem/song lyric in there. Wish I had some time to wing to Beantown.
oh I wish I knew you were coming to my area sooner--unfortunately I have to keep my shop open over the weekend and have commitments with interns and clients on those two days but I would love to see you...Too bad you didn't have a little side trip to the Cape planned in there. If you have a chance on Saturday to come see the ocean, feel free to contact me and I'll show you around some wonderful places...enjoy your time here. The wood frogs should be raising a racket at Drumlin Farms! Too bad you didn't get a gig at the CC Museum of Natural History or Wellfleet Audubon ;-(
WooHoo! Oona's Mom gave me a heads-up on your Boston appearances. I am in Providence and will do my best to come see!

Wow, sounds like a great time. Has anyone ever compared you to a hummingbird? Flitting from one gig to the next...as I sit here every day reading about your hectic non stop lifestyle I am increasingly in awe of you. All this while raising two beautiful well adjusted children. Does the phrase burning the candle at both ends ever cross your mind? When do you have time to write that second book? Have fun and I will look forward to your return to the blogosphere.
I assume you're taking Chet along to visit his ancestral home? ;-)
Have a great time in Boston and I hope the winter weather is truly over up there.

hey guys!
Sitting at gate C-54 in Columbus, wishing our plane would show up. You're never there until you're there. Everybody send out good vibes toward Boston on Thursday afternoon, OK? I just ate a tuna sandwich at 10:30 in the morning, blecccch. Who picks the airport food? Why don't they have Ak-Mak crackers and tahini spread? or Wheaties?
Good karma coming your way! Have a safe trip and don't be too rough on that luggage!
Wait, are you going to Boston without your Boston terrier?
Have a great a time and break a leg. See if you can find a CSI post while there. It would be fun to read your nature sleuthing "on location".
Wow! I hope you know how much fun we have living vicariously through you, not to mention being in awe of the depth of your knowledge and energy. Once again, your post has brightened my day this day.
Good vibes are already sent from Wyoming for a great day for you tomorrow. Come out west soon!

Just heard your wonderful Woodcock piece on ATC! Pure poetry.
Peent!
"Light and life, leaf and love." Very nice! Also, with what are recording the birdsong?
My daughter and I laughed and squealed when we got in the car just in time to hear your commentary on Woodcocks on NPR tonight. It was made all the more poignant since I had just shown her a few days ago the Woodcock video that Birdchick had on her blog. We've never seen them here in suburban Philadelphia, but we can make that sound now. Peent!

Heather and Emily -
Check out the local nature centers, like the John Heinz NWR -- this is the time they lead woodcock walks. You'd probably be able to find some where the woods and meadows meet at Valley Forge, or in Radnor, or Brandywine Creek State Park in Delaware. I flushed my first woodcock in, of all places, East Falls in Philly.
Catbird,
Thank you! We are a stone's throw from Valley Forge Park -- we'll check it out this weekend!
